I made it to the Bronx! :) My dad and I began the drive last Sunday about 1:30 after church. It followed a weekend full of blessings and lots of love from friends and family! I was so blessed with such an awesome going away party! Thank you to each one of you who made me feel so loved and special!
Dad and I drove (emphasis on dad driving...haha) for over 24 hours straight to get here:
my new home
When we arrived on Monday, we checked into our hotel and just hung out! The next day we began apartment hunting. I still don't have a for sure home...but I'm getting closer! So please continue to pray for this!
On Wednesday, we went into the city and did some fun stuff! We went to Times Square and to see Sister Act on Broadway.
On Thursday, I had to say bye to my dad....that was super hard and I cried a lot! I'm very much a daddy's girl! :) But...I know I'm exactly where God wants me to be here in the Bronx. After saying goodbye to my dad, I just chilled in the apartment where I'm cat-sitting. I watched some movies, the Olympics, and took a long nap!
On Friday, I met up with a friend that I went to high school with that lives in NYC. We went to see the new Bourne movie (these are my all-time favorite movies) at the 10:00 AM showing! Then, we just hung out all day! Her husband joined us for dinner later that day. We walked and did some window shopping, went to Panera Bread, did some more window shopping, went and got tea and coffee at Alice's Tea Cup, walked around Central Park, went to the Fox News building where her husband works, and then went to Brooklyn to eat some TexMex! :)
The chips and salsa definitely hit the spot! :)
Today, I watched more of the Olympics and just hung out at the apartment.
Tomorrow, I will go to church at Graffiti 2! I'm excited to get to worship with my new church family.
I have lots of plans for the next two-three weeks for exploring the city! Be prepared for pictures! :)
I officially start work on September 1.
