Multiply Movement

I watched a webcast last night called Multiply Movement with David Platt and Francis Chan. It was amazing and so very challenging. These men are amazing men of God who speak truth. If you're not sure who either of these guys are, google them.

Go to their website: www.multiplymovement.com.

Here is what it is (taken from their website):
What is Multiply?
Multiply exists to awaken churches and all followers of Christ to the priority of disciple-making in the church's mission. The Great Commission applies to every Christian, and the Lord Jesus has promised to be with us in this glorious task. By the power of the Spirit, we seek to make disciples, who make disciples, who make disciples...

The teaching is based on Matthew 28:16-20. This passage of scripture is called The Great Commission.  Watch the webcast. It's about 3 hours long, but it is so worth it. I encourage you to watch it in one sitting. Here's the link to the teaching outline: OUTLINE.

Here are some of my favorite things/challenges from this (some are from twitter, some are from their website, and some are my own):

--Do we really get how serious it is when Jesus gives a command? All authority has been given to Jesus Christ and He commands us to GO and make disciples of all nations! He doesn't tell us to invite them to church or the next event that we have at church. He commands us, as individuals, to go and make disciples. Live life with people. Show them how to pray, show them how to study God's Word, show them how to live a life that brings glory to God.
--Don't make excuses. As a Christ-follower, you have the power of the Holy Spirit living in you. (Acts 1:8; 2 Timothy 1:7)
--We have to believe in the authority of Christ. People who believe Matthew 28:19 will give their lives, lose them if necessary, to make His glory known.
--Are you just receiving the Word or are you reproducing the Word?
--You will plateau in your relationship with Christ unless you begin leading others to follow Christ.
--In the book of Acts, you have the people of God, the Word of God and the Spirit of God. And that's enough.
--What if every disciple in your church made one disciple in the next year? When every disciple is making disciples, the result is multiplying churches every time.

Who has God put in your life that needs to be discipled? I challenge you to pray for God to give you at least one person that you can disciple over the next year.

I want to be a disciple that makes disciples that makes disciples....
