Trusting

Trusting in God's timing is sometimes a hard thing to do! I always get contemplative at the beginning of a new year and wonder/dream about life!

I love to dream about what my life will look like in 10 years--but then I start stressing because I'm a planner! I want to have things mapped out from point A to point B. As I get older, I know that this is silly! haha! Things never happen exactly the way you want (which is amazing!)!!! God's plan and timing is ALWAYS PERFECT!!!

During my quiet time this morning, these verses stood out to me (perfect for what I've been pondering the last few days):

Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take."

Lamentations 3:28-30 (The Message)
"When life is heavy and hard to take, go off by yourself. Enter the silence. Bow in prayer. Don't ask questions: Wait for hope to appear. Don't run from trouble. Take it full-face. The "worst" is never the worst."

My prayer is that I do trust in the Lord with EVERYTHING in me...and that I take time to go off by myself and bow in prayer--and be silent.....Listen for God! I fail at this way too often....


On another note, we've started a new topic in youth Sunday School/Wednesday nights. The main point of tomorrow night's lesson is to grow spiritually because it helps us discern the truth. You can't make godly decisions about the things you watch, listen, etc., if you're not growing in your walk with Christ. You can't grow in your walk with Christ if you're not moving beyond the basics. WOW! I hope that I am NEVER satisfied with just the basics and that I am always GROWING!!!! We are going to look at the following Scripture tomorrow night with this topic: Hebrews 5:11-14, Romans 12:1-2, and 1 Corinthians 2:10-16. Be in prayer for the youth of our church--that we would mentor them and teach them to go beyond the basics and grow spiritually every day!
